Pinewood Derby Champ

Katie participated in the Pinewood 'Powder Puff' Derby race (the Girl Scouts version of pinewood derby).  Kevin and Katie worked on the car for a week.  The car is "KU" blue with red flames and #7.  Kevin was hoping that the wheels would stay on for the race. To our surprise, she won 1st place for speed in the Daisy Division (45 cars) and 5th place overall (93 cars).  Needless to say, they caught the racing bug and are already planning for next year's race. 

I snapped the middle picture of Katie when it was announced that she won...notice that she is crossing her legs, arms and fingers for good luck.

Shootin' hoops at Allen Fieldhouse

Over Christmas break, Katie attended a basketball clinic put on by the KU Women's Basketball team.  She was pretty impressed with Allen Fieldhouse.  The bottom photo is of Katie and her friend Anna on the center court Jayhawk.

Christmas 2012

Sharing some pictures from Christmas 2012.  Katie got a bike from Santa.  Last year, Katie got a sled from Santa.  She told me she should have asked for the sled this year and the bike last year.  Because last year, she couldn't use the sled because it didn't snow.  And this year she couldn't use the bike because it snowed!
