Hiking Harney Peak

We had great weather for hiking Harney Peak. It took us two attempts, but we did it. Kevin and I were very proud of Katie. She said her legs were burning, but she kept hiking to the top. As you can see from the pictures, Katie had all the accessories for a serious hiker: footwear, camelbak (which is like a backpack with your liquid), hat, sunglasses and binoculars. We look forward to many more family hiking trips.

Visiting the Heines (and Joe) in Spearfish

We visited the Heines in their new home in Spearfish. Upon our arrival, the girls (Lauren, Kate and Sara) entertained us with the program. Cousin Joe stopped by the house for a couple of visits. We toured the Spearfish Fish Hatchery (pictured above). And we even got to watch Lauren play softball and Kate play t-ball.

Visiting the Blotes in Rapid City

We visited my best friend from high school, LaRae, and her girls (Emily and Grace) in Rapid City. It was a mini 25-year high school reunion for LaRae and I.

Pre-K Graduation

Here is a picture of the Graduate and her fellow classmates from the Purple Room. Katie loved her classmates and her pre-school, which she attended for 3 years.

Dance Recital

We made it though our second dance recital. Katie did a tap dance to the song "Witch Doctor". And she had some fans at the recital this year: Grandma Carol (pictured above), G/G Dylla, Aunt Beth and counsin Danielle.

Zach and Brady's Confirmation

We, along with G/G Dylla, attended Zach and Brady's confirmation in mid-May. We enjoyed our visit and are very proud of B & Z -- they are growing into fine young men. Katie was invited to attend Miss Penny's kindergarten class so she can see what kindergarten is really like. Although Katie looks a little scared in this picture with Miss Penny, she did enjoy her visit. Miss Penny is a good teacher!
