Black Hills Trip 2009

We made a trip to Black Hills in June. We all ran in races. Katie ran a 1k with her cousin Lexi. They held hands the whole race and ran it in 8:19. Jan ran the 5k in 26:44 which was good enough to earn 2nd place in her new age group 41-49! (Just to put it in perspective, there are not a lot of runners in the 5k.) And Kevin ran the marathon in 4:52, which was about 30 minutes more than his last marathon. Other than his knee hurting some, he said he felt fine most of the run. Steve Zoellner ran the marathon too. His time was 4:42. We hiked to Roughlock Falls in Spearfish Canyon before heading home. Here are some pictures from our trip.

Jan and Katie's Road Trip to SD

Katie had a week off between schools, so Katie and Jan visited friends and family in SD. First we stopped to visit Jan's college friends -- Robin Doty and Joni Knoblock. We spent a day on Joni's farm visiting all the animals. Katie liked the cats and pigs best (the pigs ate marshmellows, listened to radio and played on a swing). Then we headed up to Watertown to stay with Papa and Grandma Dylla. Here are some pictures of our trip.

Danielle's Graduation

Danielle Omer graduated from preschool on May 21, 2009. She will attend kindergarten next fall. Danielle and her classmates entertained us with a program, and then put on their caps & gowns to receive their diplomas.

Shawee Presbyterian Preschool

Katie finished her first year of school -- 3-year old pre-school at Shawnee Presbyterian. We all really liked the school, teachers, children and parents. Here are some pictures of Katie at her farewell program and with her teacher, Miss Tina.

Jim, Carrie, Emma & Max visit KC

In April, the Lincoln Ave. Dylla's made a trip to KC. Our weekend activities included Paradise Park, which is an entertainment center for kids, and a kite festival. Here are some pictures of the girls taking a cooking class and showing off their pretty face paintings.

Tumbling

Katie took tumbling classes this winter and spring. Here she is pictured with her friend, Justice. Katie and Justice also attended pre-school together.
